T171 ECA - Module 1 reflection
Module 1 reflection
This is not my first year with the Open University. I have been working with computers of various types for over 20 years and as such am already a confident computer user. I am familiar with most of the popular office and graphic packages and am able to write macros and modules for MSOffice. I have mastered the use of email and conferencing (FirstClass included) using them both at work and home. I have been a Web user for approaching 5 years and already familiar with the use of several browsers, search engines and the protocols used. I have my own Website so HTML was nothing new to me either, in fact I did TMA02 using frames though I didn't use frames for any others including this ECA as there were no marks for the technical side of the pages produced.
I did not learn anything new in this module for two reasons:
- 1) I was already starting at a greater level of knowledge and experience than required
- 2) This was not my first OU course and as such I already satisfied this objective.
The objectives have been pasted in from the T171 site and numbered for reference purposes and are in the appendix to this page.
Appendix
Module 1 Objectives:
Aims of the module - 2 levels
To help you to understand the overall approach of Module 1, I have separated its aims into two levels:
- 1) a training level, in which it aims to teach the practical skills of using computers; and
- 2) a university academic level, which aims to teach learning skills suitable for those beginning serious learning.
